I'm Shicara Irvin, PMHNP. I started my career as a Medical Service Apprentice in the United States Air Force Reserve. In 2006, I obtained a diploma as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Augusta Technical College. In 2010, I got a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norfolk State University. In 2017, a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, and a Postmaster Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in 2018. I have several years of nursing experience working in multiple nursing specialties, including emergency department, mental health, and case management in which I am dual-certified. I specialize in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, sleep-wake disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, and bipolar disorders. I have firsthand experience working with veterans and other specialized patient populations.
