In therapy, I approach the individual with three basic elements. First: Create a safe environment in which issues can be addressed. A nonjudgemental approach encourages honest evaluation and communication. Second: I encourage each individual to look inward to identify both strengths and faults. This may not be easy. I believe this is essential to form building blocks for healthy change. Third: Each individual approaches the therapeutic process at their own pace. Speed is not nearly as important as sustainable wellbeing.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy with 7 years of professional work experience. I attended Saint Leo University and gained my Master of Social Work Advanced Clinical Practice degree. I gained most of my experience and knowledge working in the community mental health setting with diverse populations. I have a passion for helping others improve their lives and increase their overall well-being. I started my career working with children and adolescents and then expanded to adult mental health and substance use disorders. I have held many positions in my career which has allowed for career growth. I started as a front-line provider and then proceeded to become a team lead, program director, and vice president while working at a large community mental health agency. The experience I have gained throughout my career has equipped me with the needed tools to assist individuals and families in progressive healing.

Hailing from Philadelphia, my early career found me counseling dependent & delinquent youth. My focus transitioned to gender specific roles, for example, in a half-way house for women & maximum security prison for men on death row as a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist. I have served Chronic Mentally Ill populations as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. I completed a Columbia Gas of PA/MD internship collaborating with Pittsburgh Steelers' great Franco Harris on the LIHEAP campaign. I trained foster families, conducted 12 step groups, facilitated parenting classes, volunteered at a mobile crisis hotline & as a victim advocate. I was an outpatient therapist for community behavioral health agencies & enjoyed the adrenaline rush from covering several ERs. I have a soft-spot for Kidney Disease patients and also serve active duty military & families. My varied experience includes an expansive repertoire of therapies across multiple diagnoses.
