Thank you for taking the first step in your therapeutic journey. Regardless of if it's your first time or you are coming back, welcome. Acknowledging our challenges and asking for help is difficult. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. My aim is to create a supportive and safe environment in order to work towards achieving personal desires and goals. Here's a little about me- I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience working in a variety of settings- inpatient psychiatric hospital, mobile crisis team and schools. I utilize an integrative, relational and systems approach to psychotherapy. I emphasize self-awareness and self-acceptance as the guide to healing. I earned my social work degree from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and hold a BA from Cornell University in Sociology and Africana Studies. I see children, adolescents and adults.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter College, CUNY. I'm a Licensed independent Clinical Social Worker, who has been implementing community based, public health services for the past 15 years. From wilderness therapy and mobile medical vans, to addiction treatment and family therapy, my approach is flexible and draws from multiple treatment modalities. Using an integrated approach of psychodynamic psychotherapy, strength based therapy, CBT and family work, I've had success in treating individuals who experience depression, anxiety, issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, dependency and recovery. Using the therapeutic process I can offer many things to people: empathy and a sounding board, other ways of looking at issues, and ideas about how to solve problems. Through this process I hope to create an experience that allows the client to feel more present, create peace and connect to life goals. I believe we all have a natural ability to heal and grow, like plants that turn toward the sun. I believe in the power of therapy to enhance your capacity for curiosity, self-compassion, self-understanding, and a deeper sense of self-worth. If you're curious about what therapy can offer you, I encourage you to trust your instinct and reach out. Open to working with adolescents 13 and older.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and started my career as an adolescent at a daycare center. Social work became my passion at that time, and I enjoyed developing relationships with both the children and their families. Years later, I went on to receive a bachelor’s degree and then a master’s degree in Social Work. In 2006, I became licensed as a Social Worker. I now proudly call the Hudson Valley my home and have loved living Upstate for over 20 years with my family. I believe change happens when you are ready. My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. I believe in understanding someone’s heart and seeing them for whom they want to be. My empathy and compassion show through in my work. I look forward to helping individuals reach their life goals. "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless." Mother Teresa

I enjoy helping people find ways to make positive changes. My clients initially come to their first session with depression, anxiety, and frustration. They are trying to juggle life issues, along with financial and personal issues. Most people need effective skills to help them manage life with less frustration and stress, along with methods to improve their decision-making, thus improving the quality of their life. The best question to ask anyone is, "how can I help you?" My lifetime's experience, along with my education, has built a foundation that helps me understand the pain and trauma we endure. I believe strengthening a persons self-worth, increasing their ability to tolerate stress and to manage life at its worst, is a skill...to be learned, and practiced, with the result of an amazing transformation of a happier you. Open to working with children ages 6 and up.
