As a classically trained psychotherapist and former US Army National Guardsman (Infantry), I often see clients who wish to have their faith reflected as an integral part of their session, and I am able to ask the hard questions of life. I am a father, husband, farmer, an active Search & Rescue volunteer, and I am an advocate for freedom, faith, and strong families.
My experience has been dynamic, including: Police Crisis Intervention Team, Emergency On-Call MH, Correctional MH, Wilderness/Adventure Therapy, tribal healthcare, and executive leadership. I still maintain some of my former work as full-time university faculty in several visiting professorships in the areas of psychology and outdoor leadership, and I am a Forensic Consultant and Clinical Supervisor "in my spare time..."
I specialize in faith-based counseling, men’s issues, family and relationship concerns, career/goals, motivation and finding purpose in life. I provide clients with an outside perspective, seeking to provoke and inspire each person to live their calling with courage and integrity. If you’re a Veteran, Christian, LEO/First Responder, Firearm Owner, Healthcare Professional, you’ll find a knowledgeable and welcome voice with me.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Recreation Management, my graduate degree in Marriage & Family Counseling, and my doctoral degree is in Counseling Psychology. I am licensed to practice in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, & Louisiana.
