I am a licensed clinical social worker with 30 years of experience in Social Work and healthcare advocacy. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (1994) and Master of Social Work Administration and Supervision (2000) from Texas State University. I have served as an Adjunct Faculty Lecturer at Texas State University Walter Richter School of Social Work Master Social Work Program where I taught Social Welfare Policy and Social Work Leadership. My approach to therapeutic work is strengths based, assisting patients to identify and access their internal skills in order to address and overcome challenges. I use Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other forms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
