I have always had a natural curiosity for how others' experiences with life both mirror and differ from my own. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I consider it a privilege to listen to others when they are struggling with a problem that seems bigger than they are. I enjoy building a relationship with my clients that enables them to grow and change. I believe in the power of education and consider myself to be a life-long learner. I am currently studying for a doctorate degree in Professional Studies and Bioethics at Albany Medical College. I was an educator, teaching and supervising future therapists for 10 years and have recently left a 10-year career during which I spent 3 years working with presurgical patients in a bariatric program suffering from binge eating disorders, teaching a mindful eating class, teaching depression and stress management classes using CBT, and I spent 4 years providing therapy and crisis interventions to patients who suffered from moderate to severe mental illnesses. Following this, I spent 3 years supervising psychiatry, addiction medicine and social medicine programs. I am happy to be providing therapeutic support once again. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years and together we raised two boys, who are now amazing young men. I would love to talk with you and help you heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, stress and grief or loss issues.
Open to working with adolescents 13 years and older.
