I have been a therapist for twenty-eight years and in those years, I have discovered that my clients have the ability to change their lives already within them. In my sessions, my clients are given education regarding their diagnosis, techniques to manage and navigate symptoms related to their presenting problems and hope that they will continue to make positive progress in their lives. My clients appreciate my direct, blunt style of counseling because, as they have expressed to me, they “don’t want things sugarcoated.”
I specialize in helping clients process trauma and symptoms related to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and client centered therapy. I also help my clients reclaim their power and control in toxic relationships and experiences of gaslighting. I also help my clients manage anxiety through education and demonstration of mindfulness techniques.
When I am not providing counseling services, I enjoy reading mysteries and good sprawling stories. I enjoy listening to live music of many genres and watching horror movies and classic movies. I also consider myself a “foodie” and enjoy going to live theater. I have lived in South Carolina my entire life and in Columbia for the last 24 years.
