"My journey through life has led me through both light and dark places, and it's because of those experiences that I have learned how to work through my character defects and to help others do the same." Jessie Pavelka
We are all on a journey. I see counseling as an opportunity to travel alongside others as they discover the next steps. I am honored to be invited to be on another's journey. Like my own journey, others may find themselves on roads filled with fear, darkness, loneliness, and brokenness. In those moments, it is difficult to know who one can trust.
The foundation of my practice is built upon a person-centered, non-judgemental, approach to discovering a person's strengths, hopes, dreams, and goals. I love working in a profession that redeems pain and unlocks untold possibilities.
I have experience journeying with others through depression, trauma, anxiety, parenting, blended family issues, marital conflicts, relationship issues, premarital counseling, and divorce recovery. With areas of special interest that include healthy sexuality and cultural identity issues. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my primary focus is relationship counseling, with a special emphasis on intercultural /interracial relationships.
Open to working with adolescents ages 16 and older.
