I am a licensed mental health counselor, as well as a researcher and educator. I have experience working with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, and trauma/PTSD. I take an empathic and integrative approach to therapy, meeting you where you are at, addressing the goals that you set for yourself, and selecting therapeutic strategies based on your needs. I'm familiar with cognitive/behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, humanistic and existential approaches, psychodynamic theories, and harm reduction for substance use. Theories aside, I believe that acceptance, love and courage heal.
