I’ve invested my life in walking through dark places, some were unavoidable because they were mine. Others were opportunities I had to walk beside others as they explored those hard places. I’ve done this as a friend, a mentor, a parent, a therapist… I’ve done it with adults exploring sexuality, sorting out faith systems, putting the pieces of life back together, who have given up, & more.
I have been in the mental health field since 2010 but supporting others came before that. Why? Because that is what we do. We come together & face the world with someone by our side. Words that resonate when I think of therapy are courage, compassion & connection. It takes all of that & more. I believe we can all gain healing & find skills to make changes. It may take hard work & I know you know how to work hard. You have been doing it for a long time.
People are familiar with talk therapy. It is a place to learn, build a trusting relationship, explore deeper components, gain new skills and practice doing things differently. Along with talk therapy, there is also deeper work that can address those messages, reactions & repeated patterns that we can get stuck in. Together, we will find what works best for you.
