My therapeutic approach stems from a statement that was made by one of my professors in graduate school. She said, "Therapy is just a conversation between two people." I have been utilizing this approach both for myself and to assist in making the people I am working with feel more comfortable. I originally became a therapist because I was well aware of the help that is needed throughout multiple challenges in my own life. People are struggling with so many things and having this 'safe conversation' can be very beneficial. I believe change happens when we are listened to, understood, and validated. My therapeutic approach focuses on assisting others in increasing self-awareness, understanding common challenges, and the benefits of setting healthy boundaries. I also focus on helping others 'get to know themselves' by learning to identify needs, feelings, negative thought patterns, as well as effective coping strategies that will build personal and emotional strength along the way. Do you often feel weighed down with feelings of anxiety? How about stress? Have you noticed a pattern of thinking that may lead you to feeling blue about the world, yourself, or about your future? Dealing with the pandemic, increased stress in our lives, uncertainties in our future, difficult relationships and traumatic experiences can lead to an anxiety or depression related disorder, and possibly more. With the development and significant increase in telehealth services, help is available! Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we can work together closely from the comforts of your own home. Let’s start the conversation! Open to seeing adolescents ages 13 and older.
