My name is Alicia Aguirre and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have more than 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. In addition to my work in therapy, I also have 8 years of experience working with adolescents in the criminal justice system. I have always enjoyed working with populations that are underserved and have a difficult time receiving the help that they need such as adolescents, minority and LGBTQ communities as well as veterans.
I specialize in those that suffer from depression, anxiety and those that have experienced trauma in their lives. I provide services to individuals, couples and families using an eclectic approach that allows me to be able to align with my clients in order to meet their needs.
As a therapist, I believe that in order to build rapport with my clients and allow them to feel comfortable; I must provide a safe, understanding environment with no judgment. I like to be direct, open and honest with my clients, while providing an understanding, caring and realistic environment. I use many interventions when providing therapy such as CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, Client-Centered, etc. based on their needs.
Open to working with children and adolescents ages 12 and older.
