As a person who identifies as Queer, Latinx, bilingual and Non-binary, I know how challenging life can be living in a world that prioritizes cisgender and heterosexual experiences over LGBTQ+ ones. As a first generation, Mexican-American child of immigrant parents, I was raised in a large Catholic family. I know first-hand how the feeling of being an outsider in one’s family and/or community can have negative impacts on one’s mental health and well-being. I have experienced mental health services that have left me feeling invalidated and unseen. These moments helped me to understand that I needed to be part of the solution and motivated me to become a licensed mental health therapist. I understand the urgency of having a therapist who “gets it” and who knows how to create an accepting environment for all of their clients. I have 15+ years of experience working with clients. I use modern and traditional treatments that include behavioral, trauma focused and strength based approaches.
