My therapeutic approach is integrative and client centered, recognizing that each individual brings a unique combination of strengths, concerns, life experiences and personal history. I place a strong emphasis on Mindful Self-Compassion, drawing from the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Kristin Neff, Brene Brown among others. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, supported and empowered to explore, grow and resolve life’s challenges.
I utilize evidence-based modalities including trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and others. Every client is assessed including an exploration of trauma across the lifespan to inform the treatment plan.
My clinical interests include treating anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, substance use disorders, stress management and overall wellness and self-care. I provide education, support and treatment planning related to perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause.
I bring 30+ years of experience from a variety of settings including private practice, employee assistance programs (EAP), university student health and wellness centers and correctional mental health.
