My primary goal as a therapist is to build a working relationship that makes you feel safe, seen, and heard. Sounds great, right?! But what does it mean? What can you expect from therapy?
I will encourage you to think about the life you want and how that might look different from the life you currently live. We will work together to develop strategies that will help you work toward your goals. I will challenge you to employ those strategies and make the necessary changes to move in the direction of the life you want. Though the process of change and growth can sometimes be uncomfortable, I will support and encourage you throughout our work together.
While I can (almost) guarantee the use of metaphors and Socratic questioning, the techniques we use will be based on your needs. However, examples of interventions I often use include discussions to increase insight, CBT skills, values identification, behavior modification, and mindfulness practice.
