In my work as a therapist, my goal is to guide clients in accessing their strengths to overcome their challenges. I approach clients with curiosity and openness, offering a space where they can be confident that they won’t be judged.
The initial objective of therapy will be to achieve stability. As our work continues, we will spend time exploring the underpinnings of the presenting problem, finding ways to prevent it from occurring again.
I have worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, self-harm, and more. I have a particular interest in working with clients struggling with feelings of shame and guilt. In these cases I place special emphasis on acceptance and non-judgement. My style is conversational and down-to-earth, and I approach therapy as a collaborative effort.
Since graduating from New York University with my MSW, I have worked in a number of clinical settings. I now own and operate my own practice, New Amsterdam Psychotherapy.
