As a counselor, my belief is we do the best we can with what we know. I believe there is a need behind behaviors and once that need is identified and addressed, new behaviors can develop. We need a space that we can be heard, validated, and learn new ways to tackle difficulties in our lives. I specialize in working with children and adults with concerns such as anger, anxiety, depression, grief and social difficulties by increasing understanding and coping strategies. I don't believe that one approach fits all, therefore as I get to know you and your goals, we will decide which approach feels most natural for you. I have training in play therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Client Centered Counseling, CBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT. My goal for our appointments is that you feel heard, supported, and have a different understanding of your world. We work as a team to develop an understanding of your world and find new ways to handle problems.
