I believe that every person’s life could be a novel. Everyone is born with a set of unique experiences, gifting and personality. Therapy should utilize and capitalize on these unique qualities of each individual. Everyone experiences their own unique set of challenges and triumphs in life. However, sometimes circumstances are more than someone can deal with alone. Friends certainly do help, but certain things should be handled with a caring professional who will work to understand each person’s situation. A good therapist will help to uncover, provide feedback, and talk with each individual about solutions to life’s challenges. It is important to have a counselor who will listen emphatically and provide therapeutic guidance in a way that each person is empowered to be the best version of themselves. I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a Navy Veteran. I have a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies from California Baptist University in Riverside, California. I completed my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 2012. I have been a practicing clinician since 2014. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings such as inpatient as well as a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient programs, a residential treatment center, and private practice. These experiences have helped me develop a unique approach to counseling in which each client is viewed as an individual. I currently provide therapy to adults and families. I have experience treating individuals with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, addiction, grief, trauma, and adjustment issues. I am an active directive therapist meaning that I believe in giving feedback, direction and homework assignments. I utilize a variety of treatment methods such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential, Gestalt, Solution Focused, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Career Counseling. *Will fill out short-term disability claims for client's, if deemed necessary.*
