I have worked with a diverse population of individuals in my 5+ years of experience as both a social worker and a counselor in NY. Cultural competence is something that I take pride in as a counselor, especially working in this melting pot of a city. In many cultures, there is still a stigma attached to Mental Health, I know this firsthand from my own experiences as a Latino. This makes it difficult for some to even think about going to therapy at all. Therefore, it is important for me to build a therapeutic relationship based on understanding, empathy, and genuineness so that you may feel comfortable in a non-judgmental setting.
What I offer is an integrative approach to therapy that is tailored to you. I often apply skills and ideas from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and existential therapy in my sessions, however, I do not limit myself to just any one technique. I am constantly seeking more knowledge and new strategies to apply in practice and with my clients.
Open to working with adolescents 15 years and older.
I can do in-person sessions on Tuesdays at: 157 Van Buren Street, Brooklyn, NY 11221
