Hello. I am Erik J. Erickson. I have been providing therapy since 2006. I graduated from UCLA in 2002 earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I completed my master's degree in social work at San Jose State University in 2006. I am a firm believer that all of us could benefit from therapy at least at one point in our lives, especially in today's world with the many afflictions we face. I believe in a person driven approach with help and guidance for one to meet their emotional needs. I try and help people by learning different way to think about things, developing new coping skills, and believing that change comes from within the person. I have been in counseling/therapy for 22 years and have worked with numerous individuals from a vast array of diverse backgrounds. I primarily use DBT and CBT therapeutic modalities but also use a number of other therapeutic modalities tailored to the individual's needs. I have worked in a number of settings including foster care, a psychiatric hospital, a crisis unit, and with a lot of people just struggling through difficult life transitions or minor to severe symptoms of depression and anxiety.
