I am a proud queer child of Vietnamese Chinese refugees, who grew up not loving myself, believing in myself looking externally for validation and acceptance as well as feeling "not enough". I was taught to suppress my anger, disconnect from my feelings and put duty to family/society above my own needs. Through my personal healing work, I have learned to love and accept myself, learn to befriend my self-doubt, take up space and redefine success based on my terms, not others. I've learned to connect with my feelings and not be afraid of my anger, but to see it as a teacher, shining light on my unmet needs and violated boundaries.
My Approach
Three words to describe my therapy style are: Compassionate, Patient and Curious. My approach is based on the belief that everyone has the ability to heal, through compassionate witnessing. The goal is for the client to understand your needs and appreciating your inner wisdom and strengths.
