I am a graduate of Jackson State University, where I earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2006 and a M.S. in Guidance and Counseling in 2009. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor through the Mississippi LPC Board in 2012. I have over 15 years of experience working in the following populations: Alcohol and drug abuse, Homeless, and Adults and Children with emotional, behavioral, family, individual, family and mental health diagnoses. I am certified as a Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy Therapist, First Aid Mental Health Instructor and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor (CPI). I am also a member of the Mississippi Counseling Association. My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that the thoughts and the messages we tell ourselves influence our feelings and actions, which in turn can have an impact on our interactions with others and response to life situations.
Open to working with children and adolescents ages 12 and older.
