I have been a therapist for about a decade now and I truly enjoy my work and my patients. I specialize in Depression and Anxiety but also have experience with but not limited to relationships, trauma, and personality disorders. I believe in a non judgmental approach, starting where the patient is. I like to think of myself and my patients as a team, working together for a common goal and collaborating as we go. I like to use MI (Motivational Interviewing) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) because I like evidence based practice. I also love humor and I believe that it is a very powerful tool when helping patients and I try to incorporate it into my practice as much as I can. I graduated from the University of Chicago with a Masters in the Social Sciences in 2015 and then again in 2012 with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. Before considering a career as a therapist, I seriously thought about becoming a scientist. I worked in a lab for many years and love to do research. In the end, however, I realized that working with people (on a non microscopic level) was my passion which led me in the direction of social work.
