I am a New York State licensed clinical social work psychotherapist with post graduate training from an institute for psychotherapy in NYC. In addition, I am a trained life coach. I have a long career in private practice in New York and Florida as well as Rome, Italy where I lived for 12 years working specifically with the expat community. As a private practitioner, my work also entailed being an adjunct instructor, trainer, presenter, workshop leader and consultant.
My approach in dealing with adult clients is eclectic, using a variety of different techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, psycho dynamic, solution focused, mindfulness and client centered, to name a few. I strongly believe that one modality does not work for everyone and it is incumbent upon me to discover the techniques that will help each individual and their needs. This is why my style of providing therapy is supportive and one where I tailor my interventions to match the unique qualities and beliefs of each individual. With a variety of disciplines, I can help each individual create a clear vision of their future goals and develop their own resources and experiences to achieve those goals.
Most of the adults I work with, present issues involving anxiety, depression, panic attacks, relationship or marital issues, grief, ADHD and transitions to name a few. I focus on utilizing everyone's strengths, providing them with new tools and communications skills and positive outlooks in order to resolve their issues.
