I have several years of experience in using the CBT method while working with children, adolescents and adults in different settings (e.g. schools, hospitals, mental health agencies, etc.). I have used several techniques based on this model which include helping clients identify triggers for trauma or fears, identifying negative thinking patterns and replacing them with positive ones, as well using cognitive restructuring processes to help clients replace negative automatic thoughts or use thought stoppage. In addition, I have found CBT techniques useful to help replace distorted self-talk with more realistic thoughts to help change client’s negative behavior patterns. The youngest age I am willing to treat is 16 years old.
