Welcome! I’m Dr. Samantha Calvillo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a second-generation Latina. I am passionate about helping women and Latinas/os heal from trauma, particularly after experiencing sexual assault, and I explore how culture and identity shape their experiences. My goal is to create a safe, empowering, and supportive environment where you feel truly heard.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a master’s degree in Social Welfare, and a Doctorate in Social Work. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)—all evidence-based modalities that I use to facilitate healing from PTSD and other trauma-related challenges. My background includes extensive frontline crisis work in emergency departments and experience as a certified sexual assault counselor.
In therapy, I adopt a collaborative and culturally sensitive approach. You set the direction, and I provide research-based tools and clinical expertise to help you achieve your goals.
