So, you’ve been in therapy, you’ve read the self-help books, you've done the introspection. Nothing actually seems to change and the same old problems keep popping up. You might be feeling frustrated and unsure what to do next. You might be feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, or maybe just “meh” about life. You’re going through the motions and doing all the “right” things, but it’s not working out like everyone said it would. You’re not happy. Or, maybe you keep having conflicts with others and constantly feel misunderstood. You might have even been told to get a therapist and work on yourself. I work with adults and primarily draw from DBT, which means I focus on building concrete skills you can use right away and begin seeing real change. We'll build a structure for our sessions to make sure you are getting what you need. We'll identify problem areas and matching skills you'll practice between sessions so you can start mastering them immediately.
My favorite thing about therapy is helping you learn that your emotions are not the enemy or just touchy-feely things that aren't important.
