Vania Djavid is a passionate therapist and mental health advocate, dedicated to helping individuals and families heal and grow. Born in Tehran, Iran, Vania immigrated to the United States at a young age and pursued her education in Philosophy pre-law and Marriage & Family Therapy at California State University, Fresno.
In 2014, Vania embarked on a dedicated five-year volunteer journey at the Rape Crisis Center in Fresno. During this significant period, she offered compassionate therapy to children, teenagers, and families grappling with the profound impact of sexual trauma. This experience sharpened her clinical intuition and her ability to hold space for clients as they confront and process unthinkable experiences, making sense of the unspeakable and finding new ways to live with authenticity and agency.
She has over 15 years of experience working as a Weight Loss Consultant providing her with a unique understanding in helping clients overcome issues of binge eating and food addiction in her practice. Vania also brings over 15 years of experience as a Weight Loss Consultant, which has given her unique insight into the psychological underpinnings of binge eating, food addiction, and the body as an arena where unconscious conflicts often manifest.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a deep-rooted desire to connect with people on a profound level, Vania has embarked on extensive travels to delve into diverse cultures, traditions, and behaviors. These journeys have significantly enriched her comprehension of human interactions on a global scale. Her travels have further shaped her perspective, deepening her appreciation for the cultural and relational variables that influence human communication and attachment across contexts.
Currently based in Newport Beach, she maintains a private practice where she works with individuals, couples and families, fostering insight, emotional depth, and long-term transformation. She also serves as a consultant at Higher Purpose Recovery Center, where she provides clinical support to individuals navigating addiction and dual diagnosis. In each setting, her focus remains on uncovering the deeper meanings behind symptoms, helping clients integrate fractured parts of themselves, and facilitating the possibility of new ways of being.
Her approach weaves together psychoanalytic insight and modern neuroscience. She believes that while our histories shape us, the brain also has a remarkable capacity to adapt and rewire itself. With Vania you will explore not only the past, but also how you are living and relating today, creating opportunities to cultivate new ways of thinking, feeling, and connecting with others. By understanding the unconscious dynamics that influence your emotions and relationships, you gain the ability to respond more freely rather than react out of old patterns. Her approach is relational, insight-oriented, and grounded in the belief that through self-exploration and the analytic relationship, individuals can come to know themselves more fully, loosen the grip of unconscious repetition, and create space for new, more authentic ways of living.
