I realized early in my life that I wanted to be a therapist when I found myself always being that person that everyone came to with their problems and knew that I would keep it confidential. I have always been interested in human emotions and good at problem solving. My goal is to offer a safe space to be open without fear of judgement while providing guidance and the support you need to get through life's challenges.

“If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.” ― Lao Tzu I believe that fundamentally, we all want to live in the present so we can be at peace. But living in the present is not as simple as it sounds; there are many obstacles that can get in the way. Some examples are anxiety, struggles with depression, being stuck with past trauma, etc. As an experienced psychotherapist, I’ve supported people in overcoming these obstacles so they can live fully in the present and be at peace. A typical session would start with a quick check-in. Next, we move on to practicing mindfulness exercises designed to increase and enhance coping skills. Towards the end of the session, we integrate the skills so you can overcome distress if they occur, which allows you to live fully in the present. My work is informed by integrative approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, Gestalt, and body-centered psychotherapy. I strive to create an open and safe environment for collaboration and exploration with my clients. My approach is anti-oppressive and I celebrate each individual's expression of identity and cultural differences.

Reaching out for help can be uncomfortable and scary. That is why I strive to foster a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can tell their story. I work from a collaborative, strengths-based approach, assisting and supporting clients to achieve their goals. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship conflict, and/or other life stressors, I believe that everyone is the author of their own story. At any given moment, we have the ability to rewrite the next chapter. I have a master’s degree in social work, with 15 years’ clinical experience. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. My passion is helping people learn new coping skills to achieve healing and peace.
