Hello! My name is Melissa. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I have thought about what to say many times, and I’m happy you are giving me a chance. When I wrote this, I tried to think about what you might want in a therapist. Maybe you’ve had more sleepless nights than restful ones. Maybe social situations feel hard. Maybe your thoughts won’t slow down. If that sounds like you, I understand why you would want help. You might want to talk to someone who can help you ease these feelings and find relief. I’ve worked with many people who feel this way. Even though I may have heard stories like yours, I know your experience is special. We will need to find what works for you. For people with busy minds, things like meditation or journaling can feel really hard. So, in my office, we look for other ways that fit your life and interests. We try to help you manage your feelings first. Together, we will also look at your thoughts and see if they can help you in some way. If not, we will work on ways to quiet them. We can aim for things like journaling or meditation later, but first, we take small steps to get there. I also enjoy working with couples. I have helped couples who are dealing with many things, like problems with communication, infertility, or infidelity. I like to use ideas that research shows can help. Research tells us that having a lot of negative thoughts about your partner or your relationship can keep you stuck. In my office, we work together to see where those negative feelings come from. Then, we use tools that have been shown to help couples feel stronger together. I often tell my clients that therapy with me is like doing science experiments. We try small things that match your goals. Then we look at what worked and what didn’t. This helps us choose what to do next. It can feel slow at first when we are trying new things, but when we find what works, it feels great. I would be honored to go on this journey with you. Even if you choose another therapist, I hope you keep going. This is a journey that can help you change your life, and you get to choose the path. I wish you all the best on your way.
