My overall goal as a therapist is to create a genuine and non-judgmental environment based on trust and respect. I know that initiating the therapeutic process can be scary and uncomfortable. This process takes courage, and I am happy that you are here. In my individual work, my process is to take the time to really get to know the person I am working with. I want to know what is important to them, what their values are, and what their dreams are in addition to what they are struggling with. My goal is to share knowledge and help individuals understand how they interact with the world. I do this by exploring what has led someone to where they are now, what their thought processes are, and how this affects how they feel and behave. I strive to create achievable goals with individuals and help them take practical steps to get there. Individuals can expect to address mental health symptoms, improve relationships with others and themselves, manage stress, communicate effectively, or increase their sense of purpose. I am also passionate about working with couples as I feel we all deserve to be in stable and fulfilling relationships. In my couples work I utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy which focuses on all aspects of romantic relationships. Couples can expect to improve emotional connection with their partners, learn how to communicate effectively, and how to manage conflict while also strengthening friendship and trust. My past consists of seven years of experience working in different settings and levels of care including outpatient, non-profit, school-based, private practice, and intensive in-home services. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan. The diagnoses I have the most experience working with include anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, stress and adjustment disorders, and stages of life struggles. Not all of my openings are visible on the portal, so I strongly encourage you to use the messaging system to touch base with me should you have any questions about my ongoing availability. I was told once that therapists are like shoes; you have to keep trying them on until you find one that fits. I look forward to being that comfy pair of shoes for you.

Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Grief, PTSD, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Relationship Issues, Substance & Alcohol Abuse, Trauma

Working within mental health the last 7+ years of my life has been very rewarding. Prior to this, I was a corporate consultant and felt aloof from the military veteran population I was serving. I quit and enrolled in Columbia University’s Social Work Program. A native New Yorker, I enjoyed the opportunities Columbia afforded me to work with people struggling with trauma, substance use, relationship/marital issues, general anxiety and depression, grief and loss. My approach to therapy is that everyone is on their own journey and I feel honored to walk alongside them, providing minimal guidance as they seek better versions of themselves. Rather than offering advice, I like to motivate and empower people to make changes that are more sustainable in the long-term. Change is difficult, I myself have experienced many changes including extreme grief and loss, relationships issues, and am grateful to have had the help to work through it – I hope I can help you do same!
