One of my favorite life mantras is a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent". Thus, I enjoy helping others embrace their power. One of the most impactful ways to do that is a change in thought process. It has such a significant influence on the way we react and the type of emotions we feel. At times, facing life's challenges can be difficult. Fortunately, you do not have to do it alone. I'll walk on the journey with you, co-creating a safe environment that encourages exploration and growth. If you'd like to know if I'd be a good fit on your personal journey, please feel invited to reach out!

In my practice, I emphasize empowerment and self-acceptance. I work with adolescents, and adults to help them stride towards controlling behavioral or emotional patterns that cause significant impairment in personal functioning, within the family, work, or school environment. This, in turn, allows the client and therapist relationship to develop mutual trust and respect, ensuring the client develops coping skills to use effectively.

I grew up in a small town in Sod, WV on a farm surrounded my animals. It was truly my happy place. In 2020, my family made the move to Florida where we live now. While living in WV with the change of seasons was nice for a long time, moving closer to the beach had always been a dream of ours. Florida has been a great change. I have always wanted to help others navigate life’s ups and downs because we all have them. Counseling is a wonderful process designed to help individuals and couples work on what they feel is creating issues in their lives. As a counselor, I meet each client where they are and provide unconditional positive regard to each person. Counseling is a journey where each client must be willing to put in the work for progress to be made. I sometimes tell my clients, “If it were easy, everyone would be doing it”. However, making changes is difficult. I do think we can learn to tap into our strengths, alter our thinking about events and ultimately live a happier life. Supporting and helping each person be their best self, while witnessing it happen, is why I love my job. In counseling, I use SFBT, CBT, REBT, and creative interventions to name a few.
