I have been an independent clinician since 2013 and in private practice since 2017. I strive to provide clients with a safe, calm, open therapeutic environment. I believe we are all individuals and there is no one size fits all approach. Therefore, I tailor therapeutic treatments to the need and the goals of my clients. I am painfully aware that some of life’s transitions can be difficult to cope with: be it a loss of a loved one, a new illness, a chronic illness, a disability, depression or just everyday life. Whatever the case may be, we all need help and somebody to talk to during our life’s journey. Some of the conditions I treat include chronic illnesses, disabilities, mental illness, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss. I specialize in working with families who may have a member that is disabled as well as family situations. I am here to help you improve your journey through life. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three children.

I am from Denver, Colorado and grew up in the Boise, Idaho area. I am a mom, wife, and lifelong learner. I like spending my free time crocheting, being active (paddle boarding, yoga, and walking are some of my favorites), reading, spending time with friends and family, and being in the mountains. Some of my favorite things are my fur babies, the ocean, and tacos. My Approach I believe people can grow and change when given the time and space to speak their truth and develop their personal insight. In my therapeutic approach I integrate various treatment modalities to fit each client’s individual needs and counseling goals within a calm and non-judgmental space. My goal as a therapist is to gain an understanding of your life, identify possible blind spots, hold space for you to process emotions and increase personal insight, and encourage life changes that promote a better quality of life.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a wife, mother, and Air Force Veteran with a passion for working with trauma survivors. I served in the Air Force for 11 years and endured multiple deployments to various locations. As a Veteran, I understand the struggle of coming home from deployment and readjusting to "normal" life despite the experiences in a deployed location. It can be hard to find someone who understands the unique culture of military life. After my separation in 2011, I experienced the other side as a military spouse and found a true passion in helping my fellow veterans and their families navigate their journey through life. As someone who understands the struggles of dealing with anxiety and trauma experiences, I work hard for my clients to help them find peace and content in their lives and futures. I provide a safe, empathic, and understanding environment where we can explore your world, your struggles, and how to bring the darkness into light.

Life can be challenging. A lot of events and experiences happen unexpectedly, and it can be difficult to find a sense of control and tools to support yourself. Even when life feels confusing, the weight of pressure or expectations feels heavy, or you aren’t sure what next steps to try and navigate, I know that you have strength and resilience. Simply reaching out and starting the process is empowerment in action. Together, we can discover and refine the strengths and resources you have to better serve you and enhance your confidence in managing life stressors. I can’t change past or present stressors and hardships, but I am here to walk alongside you. I aim to provide a safe and secure place to process emotions, events, or relationships causing distress. Together we can explore strategies that foster acceptance, develop coping skills, and uncover solutions aligned with your goals and values. I operate from a client-centered approach that focuses on the person and the systems they interact with. I integrate techniques from CBT, Grief Therapy, ACT as well as emotion-focused and somatic awareness. I’ve guided clients with Grief/Loss, Bereavement, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Workplace Difficulties, Chronic Disease and other presenting issues. It takes courage to reach out for support, and I commend you for taking this step! Together, let’s embark on a journey of growth, healing, and hope.

Are you feeling stuck in negative thoughts, intense emotions, or behavioral patterns that don't serve your best interest? Are you hoping to build more meaning and joy in your life? You may feel hesitant about reaching out for help, especially with pressure from all directions to "have it all together". I'm here to join you on this journey to discover healing and build a balanced life. My goal is to help you find compassion for yourself, develop skills to help you navigate life stressors, and be confident in the resilient person you are. I believe that therapy is not “one size fits all” when it comes to the type of approach that is being used. Although my background and approach is deeply rooted in behavioral approaches, I recognize that therapy needs to be tailored and personalized to help you reach your goals and full potential. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have had the opportunity to work in the mental health and substance abuse field for over 5 years. I am professionally trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I believe we are all unique and pull from multiple theories to best fit each client. I am available Monday through Thursday 3am - 10am.

I think it’s helpful for my clients to know why I do this work. I come from a family with a lot of intergenerational trauma: war refugees, parental abandonment, sexual trauma, addiction, and suicide. My first step on the path to becoming a therapist was learning how to deal with my own anxiety and depression. Working in mental health treatment has led me to an understanding my own inner workings and it continually reminds me of where I can get myself into trouble. What keeps me in this field is a desire to share what I know and help others. My training is rooted in my experiences in wilderness and adventure therapy work. Living in small groups taught me about what it really means to be human. This perspective is beneficial to my clients’ relationships, it informs the self-care habits I teach, and it helps me in explaining why creating meaning guards us from mental health issues. I believe that clients’ unique cultural context and socio-economic experience should inform therapy.
