I’m a therapist dedicated to understanding the complexities of the human psyche, especially the effects of trauma and dysfunctional relationships. My passion for psychology emerged during my recovery from an eating disorder, leading me to explore why people react to trauma and how healing can be achieved. I enjoy working with clients who are eager to delve deep into their experiences, examining their beliefs and values to foster meaningful change. With 8 years of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals struggling with PTSD, attachment wounds, and self-worth issues. My clinical approach blends evidence-based practices with theoretical knowledge, providing precise feedback and tailored strategies for growth. I value non-judgment and prioritize quality care, creating a safe space for exploration. If you’re seeking practical therapy that aligns with your values, I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with your authentic self.

Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Grief, Panic, Personality Disorders, Phobias, Relationship Issues, Substance & Alcohol Abuse, Trauma
I am a LPC & LSW with over 20 years in the mental health field. I have two masters’ degrees and a doctorate degree. My strengths are working with people with the greatest need who may not have any hope, support or desire initially to help themselves. I work with children, adolescents, individuals, and families/couples. I work with diverse groups of people. I love my job. I feel that it is important and that only certain people can do it well. Please reach out to me. We will work together as a team. My approach to working with clients is to meet them where they are at. I do not believe in making the client adjust to the clinician. That is not fair. During the therapy session the appropriate therapeutic model will be decided based on what the client reveals during the first few sessions. It is then when the clinician will discuss the thoughts regarding the therapeutic model and the reason for it with the client. Clients can expect to take away a different view of what therapy sessions are after having a session with me. Sessions are actually team work. They are interactive and allow the clients to participate and reflect on many past events not just recent. Therapy can be very empowering. Open to working with children/adolescents 8 years and older.

Depression, Generalized Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma
Hi, my name is Dawn; I am an independently licensed therapist (LCPC). I have a history of supporting individuals with many different mental health needs. I primarily work with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety and trauma/PTSD to gain the skills and self-acceptance they desire to achieve their goals. By gaining skills and acceptance of yourself, you will be able to live the life you desire. I believe that everyone is a unique individual, so I approach therapy with an open mind and no judgement on your past or present experiences. I support clients in learning skills through therapeutic interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and didactical behavioral therapy (DBT) while being trauma informed. I became a therapist because I saw the growth individuals gained when they could express concerns to someone who was non-judgmental and accepting of them. I have always been drawn to helping and supporting others. I gain fulfillment out of seeing others succeed and achieve what they want out of life. I look forward to being working with you soon!

Did you spend your childhood walking on eggshells, learning to tune out your own needs to keep the peace, or suppressing your true self to manage someone else’s moods? Now, as an adult, do you tend toward people-pleasing or over-functioning at the expense of yourself? Have trouble setting boundaries or saying "no"? Fear that you are “too much” or “not enough?” Struggle to identify or express your emotions? If this sounds like you, you don’t have to carry this all on your own! Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, set boundaries, and live in a way that is more fully aligned with your values. I specialize in helping individuals who grew up with emotionally immature, unavailable or overly reactive parents break free from the weight of the past and I'm dedicated to helping you create the life you deserve. Together, we’ll build clarity, self-trust, and healthier relationships. Our work together will help you grow from surviving life to thriving. The ways you learned to cope aren’t failures. They were survival strategies. I'm committed to creating a safe and compassionate space to help you understand how those past experiences have shaped your relationships, sense of self and emotional well being. Healing is possible and together, we will work towards growth at a pace that feels right for you.
