I follow Jesus Christ and have nearly 20 years of experience supporting my clients' mental health and emotional needs through the practical application of Biblical truth. I will partner with you to assess symptoms ailing you but uncover solutions to resolve them, grow personally, and live the abundant life promised to those who serve the living God. I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1995, and a master's degree in counseling in 2001 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I earned a pastoral counseling certification in 2019 from Liberty University and have served families in Nebraska, Colorado, and Tennessee for over 20 years in behavioral health. Whether you struggle with relationship conflicts, depression, anxiety, or unresolved trauma, my approach will help you gain insight into root causes, develop clear steps to move forward and obtain the peace and joy that comes with knowing the truth and being set free to experience the life God provides through His Son.

I primarily use CBT and Psychodynamic theory when working with clients. I believe in being very direct and blunt with clients as this will help them grow. I don't beat around the bush or allow clients to get away with self-deception and confront their irrational and dysfunctional belief systems. I am comfortable treating a variety of symptoms and conditions. I believe in creating a safe space for clients to express themselves however they need to. This encourages growth and trust in the therapeutic alliance. I encourage clients to set the goals they want to reach. This is their process. Wherever they want to go, I will help them get there. I tell my clients I am the car. They are the driver. We go to the destination they determine. The first session with me is information gathering so I will be asking a lot of questions and they will be doing most of the talking.

I am married and the father of two teenage kids. I enjoy sports, movies, and music. My hobbies include golf, camping, hiking, and kayaking. I have experience helping teenagers, adults, and couples with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, and parenting issues. I am focused on creating a safe and trusting environment for clients to talk and explore. Whether you are seeking help with a specific issue, needing to gain some insight in a particular area, or just want to talk through a certain thought or situation, I welcome everyone with respect, empathy, and compassion. I tend to lean more direct with regards to talking through issues expressed by clients. I hope to understand and define the specific issue in order to work with more focus. While it is important for clients to come to their own conclusions and decisions, I actively engage in sessions to provide support and guidance throughout the process.

Thank you for clicking on my profile. I am a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist and have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced a wide range of losses. All of us experience some type of loss – pets die, we move from one city to another, parents divorce, a parent chooses not to be a part of our lives, relationships end, we lose important jobs, and the list goes on. Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind. Depression and anxiety can be symptoms of a loss. Whether grief is caused by a death or another loss, incomplete relationships can have a lifelong negative impact on your capacity for happiness. I would be honored to work with you and learn more about how you would like to live a more fulfilling life.

Samantha Bishop, LPC-MHSP I’m a trauma-informed therapist and mom who believes healing happens best in relationship. I love the safety and comfort that come through traditional talk therapy, but I also know that lasting change often requires stepping outside our comfort zones. My approach blends both — offering a grounded space of compassion while inviting gentle challenge and growth. Whether we’re exploring the past, reconnecting with the body, or building new relational patterns, I help clients rediscover their resilience and sense of worth. I draw from experiential, somatic, and attachment-based approaches to support each person’s unique process. I believe therapy should feel both safe and real — a space where you can be fully seen, understood, and encouraged to grow at your own pace.

It takes courage to ask for help in difficult times, but we all need support at different moments in our lives. I am a bilingual licensed psychologist, and I have been working with children, adolescents and families for more than a decade. I specialize in areas including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mourning and separation. Immigration, trauma, transgenerational trauma and identity have been specific areas of interest. My treatment approaches are: Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Interpersonal and solution focused brief therapy, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques in an integrative approach. I utilize Play therapy, bibliotherapy and sand tray techniques when working with children, with an emphasis on parent-child work. I understand psychotherapy as a private and safe space to reflect on issues that may be affecting you and make the changes needed to feel better with yourself, family, and other relationships.

I am a licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee. I have a Master of Counseling from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from the same University. I have worked with clients with depression, addiction issues, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, social phobias, relationship issues, phase of life issues, abandonment issues, and more. In my 60+ years of life, I have personally experienced a lot of things that my clients share with me. I am able to empathize or and the very least identify with my client`s needs. My approach is Person/Client Centered; Person-centered therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. The therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without moving the conversation in another direction.
