Hi, my name is Gabi. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hope to join you on your current journey! I understand it can be intimidating to search for a therapist. I have extensive experience working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, career unease or dissatisfaction, perfectionism, relationship conflict, breakups, substance use, family conflict, life transitions, and emerging adulthood. I have served a multitude of clients in marginalized communities. This includes LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, women and low-income communities. I value what it means to be your true authentic self. Where we can show up for ourselves and others, even if it isn’t “perfect.” I provide a humanistic, client centered, and strength-based approach in my practice. I specialize in the following therapy approaches: I specialize in the following therapy approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, attachment & emotionally-focused modalities, and solution focused brief therapy. Throughout our sessions, I work to incorporate evidence based therapies that are research driven. While I may incorporate evidence based therapies, it is never a one size fits all approach. I like to describe myself as client centered in my practice, meaning you are the expert and I will be a guide alongside your journey. This may look like noticing and breaking down your thoughts and behaviors to help facilitate gradual change in your everyday life. I value what it means to be your true authentic self. Where we can show up for ourselves and others - even if it isn’t “perfect.” Let's look at how you can invest in yourself, while building off your inner strengths. Everyone deserves someone in their corner that really sees them and where they can be their true authentic self.

Welcome! I am happy to meet you. As we begin our work, this is what I would like for you to know about me. I began my professional life in 1991 as an intern at the Mississippi State Hospital. Since then I have worked in community mental health agencies, an HMO and in private practice settings providing services for individuals, groups, and professional seminars. I have expertise working with children, teens, couples, and adults addressing issues of domestic violence, relational abuses and parenting, eating disorders, suicidality and self-harming behaviors in addition to facilitating trauma recovery. I have also treated members of our armed services for duty connected experiences. I have been a practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) since 1998. I since become a Consultant and have provided trainings and consultation throughout the US, Canada and Hong Kong. My personal and professional approach to life emphasizes the importance and benefits of learning. My primary treatment goal, across the spectrum of experiences, is to guide you toward a life grounded in the present without intrusions from lingering symptoms. I believe therapeutic success is best achieved through a respectful, direct, and enjoyable clinical relationship. Open to working with children/adolescents 10 years and older via telehealth.
