Long term problems do not necessarily require long term solutions. By employing the latest evidence based treatments, I aim to maximize durable change in the least amount of time. As my client, you will find me to be a patient & empathic listener. I strive to view life through your eyes so that I can be best positioned to help you attain rapid improvement. Together we will develop a plan that targets your areas of concern. As part of the therapy process, I will teach you empowering techniques that will enable you, after you leave therapy, to become your own master therapist to yourself. I utilize the latest innovations in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as well as other approaches, to help clients resolve their issues as quickly as possible, saving you time and money. One of the exciting things about the therapy I employ is that problems start to be seen as opportunities for growth, rather than obstacles to happiness. My clinical experience is broad and varied. It ranges from those very significantly impaired by mental illness to clients seeking guidance in making a career choice. I also have training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidenced based short-term therapy. Open to working with children/adolescents 13 years and older.

Hello there! I'm Terry Coy, an Individual, Marriage, and Family Therapist. For many this process and seeing so many names of therapy or mental health names can be overwhelming. With this in mind, I would like to introduce myself in what I would call session zero. No fees, get to know me a little bit, and hopefully we get a head start on building trust and comfort. First, congratulations on making it this far. Already, although it may not seem like much, you have taken a HUGE step toward improving your life. Therapy, because of myths and cultural stigmas, may seem either scary or useless. What is it really? Starting a conversation with someone who will be kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and specifically trained in ways to lessen anxiety and ease depression. In my instance, that includes a Bachelors degree in sociology, a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, 16 years of my own marriage, and parenting 3 kids. I have been working in mental health since 2005. Wow, that seems like a really big number when I share it. On a personal note, I have quite a few hobbies. I love camping and the outdoors, hiking, and hopefully soon that includes some mountain climbing. I also coach several sports with my kids and practice my favorite art, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, whenever I can. I also am very involved in my community through our schools, church, and a men's group. I utilize these experiences, degrees, life, and sometimes even my faith to serve individuals and families.
